Le Blanc asks us not judge the book by the cover; the shell, the status symbol or the casing. These works speak to the use of stereotypical characteristics of masculinity as self-defence mechanisms, and to the ways that power, aggression, strength, and control can entrap and misrepresent maleness and disregard vulnerability.
